FYODOROVKA AND YUGO-VOSTOK (30 KM, 8 HOURS)

The tour starts in Central Park. Then, following this route, you may see some other areas where Karaganda first appeared – Big Mikhailovka and Fyodorovka areas, as well as a relatively new city district called Yugo-Vostok (South-East). If you choose to take this route you will also see Palace of culture by the Mining equipment repair plant (MERP), about seven kilometers of picturesque shores of Fyodorovskoye reservoir (by the way, it is a good idea to take a short break there), almost all new religious buildings of the city (three churches of different religious denominations and two mosques), a few sporting venues which had been built in the recent years, as well as the Old airport building which nowadays houses a car market. Within this route you will also visit the new Victory park. It is worthy of note that a fountain located there is one of the popular meeting points of the Karaganda cyclers (this is where bicycle marches often start). On the way back to city centre you may stop by the factory store at Karaganda confectionary factory and purchase some sweet souvenirs.
